The following Reid-Hillview Airport arrival instructions are for VFR planning purposes only. Be sure to check NOTAMs and follow ATC instructions at all times. For more information, see AIRNAV.com

RHV class D airspace is bordered by SJC Class C airspace which lies to the Southwest. The airport is surrounded by residential, shopping and recreational areas.

From the South or South East

Arriving from the SE, report over "UTC", the group of buildings in the foothills about 7 miles SE of RHV, between RHV and Anderson Reservoir. ATIS will indicate which tower frequency to use (normally 126.1).

Expect "straight in 31L, report 2 mile final, squawk 5300", if the winds reverse, expect "right traffic 13R".

From the North or North East

Aircraft arriving from the N or NW, normally report over Calaveras Reservoir or abeam Mission Peak.

Watch for outbound aircraft turning right, for noise abatement and to avoid SJC class C. Expect "enter on a 45, right traffic 31R, squawk 5300".
