Fun Activities

In addition to the monthly meetings, the Santa Clara Valley Ninety-nines organize a monthly flying event and a number of other fun activities for our members and for other members of our local aviation community.

The following list comprises some of our regular activities that might need a bit of introduction.

• Monthly Flying Event
  Need inspiration to fly more? Every month, the SCV99s plan to flying event. We arrange to meet for lunch at airports both near and far. Pilots with planes share rides with FWPs and those who don't have a plane. The more the merrier.

• Pasta Night
  This annual event is a fundraiser to help support the prestigious San Jose State University Precision Flying Team.
• Mystery Flight
  You'll need to use your pilotage skills to follow a course that ends up at a secret airport destination.
• Poker Flght
  Pick up your poker hand by flying to five different airports. Winning hands win great prizes.
• Airmarking
  You've seen airport name painted on the taxiway of your favorite airport. I'll bet you don't know who paints it.
• Flying Companions Seminar
  This all day seminar is for Pilot Companions, those who fly with their pilots but don't necessarily want to become pilots themselves.
  
  The Seminar introduces several basic aviation concepts, teaches how to be an effective cockpit member, and addresses and helps calm fears about flying.
