What is a Flying Companion Seminar?
Are you a frequent passenger in small planes? Do you have family or friends who are pilots? Are you curious to learn more about aviation?
Then you are a “Companion” and we hope to see you at our workshop.
Taught by experienced female pilots who love to share our passion for flying with others, this workshop will teach you:
- What goes into a basic flight.
- What all those dials and buttons do.
- What keeps an airplane in the air.
- Who are the people on the radio and how to talk to them.
- How to help in the cockpit.
- What to do in an emergency.
- How navigate through the sky.

Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to bring?
Nothing specific as we provide all you need. We do encourage reusable water bottles (water is available), a light sweater if air conditioning makes you cold, and sun protection (hat, sunglasses, etc.) as you may spend up to an hour outside at a plane.
Does my pilot need to attend?
No. This workshop is for non-pilots. Your pilot likely already knows everything we are going to teach you.
May my pilot attend?
Yes. On occasion pilots sit in on the workshop, however, most find we are covering things they already know. Pilots who want to sit in, but don’t eat a meal will not be charged. Please let us know in advance if your pilot will be sitting in.
What does the workshop fee cover?
We provide breakfast, lunch, snacks, and a comprehensive packet of materials. Any additional revenue is used to support aviation causes such as scholarships for student pilots.
I don’t know anyone who is a pilot. Can I still attend?
Absolutely! And by the end you will know a whole lot of pilots.
